What can the guy do to make sex not so painful?

Hi Im actually 19 and I want to have sex for the first time, I need to know how do you know when its the right time to do it and do I need some kind of lube or am I better off with out it?

Also what should the guy do to make it not hurt so much for me?

i dont think the guy can do much... you need to just relax and not get tense
